Silence

Silence is the key and the lock
 My enemy and my friend
How can the bars be broken?
And will the imprisonment end?

The fight is hard and desperate
A cold and bloody night
How can I fight forever?
Instead give fear and take flight?

Why is knowledge so dangerous to hold?
Maybe some things you are better off not knowing
Again I scream again I weep
The cancer is in me and it’s growing.

For now I am so tired there is no light
Only the dark in the encroaching funeral night.
My grievous soul so terribly sore beyond all care
To escape into the darkened air.

So I lie awaiting deaths hour
As the Beast restrains my power
A blade above me now in my fist
A spray of blood a charnel mist

Now the blade is blunted upon the stone
A wolf is hunted left to die alone
A rattle, a gasp a final breath
And the hunter is laid to rest.

For now I see how the sacred rests in me
For I have impaled it with utter finality
And I in mortal sin broke the heart
The blade now rests within.
