Twisted nursery rhymes

Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements
A child is bleeding alone
You owe me five farthings say the bells of St Martins
A child is crying alone
When will you pay me say the bell of old Bailey
A child is starving alone
When I grow rich say the bells of Shoreditch
A child reaches out for help
When will that be say the bells of Stepney
A child is lost in the dark
I do not know say the great bells of Bow

Here comes a candle to light you to bed
A child sleeps in fear
Here comes a chopper to chop off your head
A child wakes screaming
Chip chop, chip chop – the last mans dead.

What are little boys made of ?
Nasty little boys says Mummy
Snips and snails and puppy dogs tails
Foul little boys says Mummy
What are little girls made of ?
Beautiful little girls
Sugar and spice and all things nice
No need to punish little girls says Mummy
That’s what little girls are made of

Rock a bye baby on the tree top
Sleeping in the cold
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
Crying himself to sleep
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall
Curled up against the pain
And down will fall baby cradle and all

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Mummy says to lie
An apple in the morning-doctors warning
Mummy says you fell
Roast apple at night – starves the doctor outright
Mummy says you eat too much
Eat an apple, going to bed – knocks the doctor on the head
Mummy says there are consequences
Three each day, seven days a week ruddy apple ruddy cheek
