In a distant future, the haves and have-nots reside on opposite sides of the sea. In the discarded cities of the 21st Century, the poor languish in poverty, while on the ocean horizon, the gleaming Island offers up luxury and long-life for those who can afford it. Dry-witted and wily, Dee doesn't care so much that she's stuck on the Mainland, with the short end of the population stick. That is, until a momentary act of sacrifice for a mysterious stranger reveals she's not who she thought she was, and there are people who want her dead. Suddenly, the Island is looking like her only hope, and this stranger, her only friend.
