In a matter of seconds, Madison Lowe's world had come crashing down around her. \"You still love her, don't you?\" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. She went numb as he nodded. 'He' was her husband, Chase Lowe. They met while he was on the rebound from his split with his girlfriend of seven years, Kalyn Park. At the beginning, she believed he would soon leave. After all, it was simply a rebound few nights, then he'd leave to find real love. But after spending more than a year together, she'd pushed that thought from her mind. He loved her. At the two-year mark he proposed. They were more in love than ever. It was only at the three-year mark when she failed to fall pregnant after months of trying, did the cracks begin to show. He started being moody and inconsolable. He'd often get drunk and come home ranting about how much he missed Kalyn. How she'd treated him right and always made him feel special. Madison passed this off as a drunken rage. Of course he would miss her. They'd been together for seven years. They'd bought a home together, but never started a family. They were so smitten, they wondered why they should rush into things. But now the truth came out. He wasn't over her at all. In fact, out of the three years Chase had Madison had spent together, two and a half of them had been spent with him sleeping with Kalyn behind Madison's back. During that time, they'd even had a child together, which Madison didn't know about. He'd only felt the need to come clean when Kalyn announced she was expecting his second one. \"Can I see your messages, please?\" Madison asked quietly. \"I don't think they'll make you feel any better,\" he replied. But the glare she gave him made him hand his cell phone over. He hid his head in his hands. He didn't want to see Madison in any more pain than she was now. A tear rolled down her cheek as she read the messages shared between Chase and Kalyn. ...you were gorgeous tonight, K, can't wait to see you again... ...us breaking up was worth it just for the making up... ...we were meant for each other. I can't leave you alone... But the worst one of all was the message he'd received, only two hours earlier. ...another one, babe. Another mini us. The outcome of the perfect nights we spent together. Will we be spending another tonight?... Madison couldn't hold it back any longer. She bawled loudly, and buried her head in the cushions on the sofa. The couple didn't share a single word. Madison lay, bawling, while Chase headed upstairs to pack his things. He knew she would never forgive him, and as cruel as it seemed, part of him didn't want her to. Because Kalyn, the love of his life and the mother of his soon to be two children, was waiting for him.
