poem about abortion

i'll write you into loops
keep you in between bones
and flesh, cradled down in hips,
pushing up on ribs--

this is where the entirety of you resides
this membrane you're soaked in, swollen, full,
feeding you, keeping the center of you warm--
i wish you could stay there forever.
but i'm opening up months too soon
and the difference in the pressure is ripping you out
you stained the inside of my thighs
with raspberry kisses for days
i think, perhaps, you left me more torn
than the doctor ever managed to do to you
