Why now should love lack in we

I’m beat by those who birthed me

I sat you on the couch to see,

All who I happen to be

You may have misunderstood by the wave of my hand

By who I love, I’m not a bad man

You raise your voice as I just stand

Taking in the judgment in all but home-like land

Oh, father, father, what have I done?

To cause your own to go and run

None of this deserves your back spun

My future, still my own, has only begun
