Here we are lil ones running down a hill careful don’t trip.
I tag you, you hit me, we laugh about it later after I cry.
And here we are dancing in the moon light bathed in our own ignorance.
I chase you, you run away, that blue dress blowing in the thin crisp wind.
The trees are tall, you fall down I’m not quick enough to catch you.
Don’t let it hurt, not for a second because you were always tougher than me.
Let me bring you back up to when I was happy and stupid.
But full of bliss, and so were you those days flash by like they never existed.
You kick and scream on the floor and I don’t blame you, hair is blocking your eyes.
I wont leave you not like this, you never left me when I was drunk and dying.
Back to the beginning when we were young and we never heard of love.
We laughed back then but now we only see the clouds smudge out our sun.

A wonderful piece and I have to agree with gerabel, youth is wasted on the young.
Thanks for the great read,

BPhilen:
Interesting, abstract, well written and presented. Liked the choice and treatment of theme.
Gave it an "I Like It" vote. As with your other postings. At times, without commenting.
Search YouTube for a music video of Emmylou Harris singing "How She Could Love The Wildwood Flower!". Expresses the message: "We all live though our finest hour with realizing it until after it has ended."
Thank you for becoming a fan. Most appreciative.
Happy trails,
Ed Bradley.

You have captured that longing for things to be 'lovely' and 'perfect' again just as we remember them to be when we were young. Unfortunately, very often 'youth is wasted on the young'! A most enjoyable read, Brandon. Happy days.....Jerry (*_*)
