Once upon a time, there were two really fun boys named Jack and John.  Jack was six years old and had blond hair.   John was eight years old and had brown hair. They were super nice boys from New York.  They went with their mom on a train to Washington, D.C. because they liked to go on trips.  When they got there they went to the Lincoln Memorial.  Then, a huge rain storm came up and the sky turned red.  All the people went home.  The boys were very scared because they lost their mom!  Then, a bolt of lightning hit the Lincoln statue and it came to life! The boys froze.  Lincoln picked them up and took them back to their hotel.  When they got back to the hotel they thanked him and told their mom about it.  The boys were safe at last.  What a trip!

Five Versions of Light

“It is the end of the ocean,” said the sting ray.

“It will trap me on sand!”

“It is the sun,” said the rocket.

“It will melt me.”

“It is a light bulb,” said the electrician.

 “It lights homes.”

“It is fire,” said the home.

 “It will burn me!”

“It is a tanning light,” said the tanner.

“It will keep me brown all summer.”
