If you have a weak stomach and can get sick easily, the following short story isn't for your eyes.

Chapter 7

Shannon looked to the woman she hated more then anything to the man she had just kissed. How am I going to get out of this alive. Becky cleared her throat and showed him the door. Ryan turned to me and leaned in for a kiss.

"273 Montgumery Rd." I blinked as he kissed my cheek and nodded to Becky. Watching him leave made me feel like I was never going to see him again. Boy, was I close. Becky shut the door and almost at the same time she rounded on me and slapped me, sending me flying onto the stairs. Looking up I saw her grin. She grabbed my hair and brought me to the kitchen. Turning on the hot water, she thrust my wrists under them, stepping on my feet to prevent them from moving. Crying out in pain, I knew no one would hear  my cries for help. Tears welling up I cried over and over.

"RYAN!! HELP ME RYAN!!! PLEASE" Where was he? He said he'd never leave to die at the hands of this sorry excuse for a woman. Looking at her I tried to think straight.

"Poor Shannon. You think all I'll do is hurt you a little bit. I don't care if you tell them that I did this. I'll lie, and you know I'm good at that." Glasring at her, I spit at her feet. She growled and elbowed me in the face. Feeling the blood rush down my face I wretched back, catching her in the stomach. Using the moment to ruin free I headed to the door. Wrretching it open I flew down the street towards 273 Montgumery Rd. I got to the main road before the pain and lose of blood got the better of me.

I woke up 9 hours later in a white room, with machines hooked up to me. Blinking and looking around in confusion I noticed one thing familiar. Ryan was sitting of to the side, sleeping. Smiling, I cracked a lip and gasped. That woke him up. He flew to my side, brushing my hair along my head and smiling at me.

"Hey, Smiley. How are ya?" He leaned over and ckecked something then sat back down. I went to lift my arms and noticed I couldn't move them. I tried again to no avail. Looking to Ryan for answers I saw the pity in his eyes.

"You had bad burns. Your skin was peeling away in places and the dirt you fell on wasn't helping. You have casts dear. Not to worry." He was wrong. I had everything to worry about. A tear slipped past my lids and he watched it fall. Leaning in to kiss it away, he climbed up on the bed beside me as I cried.

"It hurt Ryan, god it hurt" I sobbed into his shoulder, feeling his fingers relieve tension in my shoulders. "It hurt so much and I cried for you and cried but you never showed up. I thought you left me." He turned and kissed me long and hard. Clinging to him I left him even though I knew by the end my lips had cracked open. Swearing her wiped them up and I fell back into a deep sleep. God I hope he never leaves.

"...you never showed up, I thought you had left me..."
