Bright colours hit Perla in the face as she walked through the front entrance of the palace. Heading down the East Wing she noticed everyone was staring at her. Oh god, what now. She groaned inwardly. I know my sandles aren't the greatest but when your a Priestess and best friend to the King, you find the time and the funds to keep clean and white in a mud filled town. Ignoring the stares and whispers, she continued on her way till an old maid stepped in her way.

"Is it true? Is it true that our very own Priestess has finally found a lad to be with? Are you giving up your training?". Perla stared in shock/disbelief/horror, cleared her throat and looked the woman in the eye.

"Madam, I don't know where your getting your information, but I have no intention of giving anything up or getting married." Nodding she turned on her slippered heel and walked down the hall to the Kings' Chamber. Where are these lies coming from?

Opening the door, she noticed that the noble was in the room. The same one from the market. She turned to see her father standing off the right of the Kin's chair and bowed her respect to those in the room.

"Priestess, please take a seat. This man has some very important and shocking news." Perla eyed her father carefully and sat, turning her attention to the man of had saved her further humiliation. He cleared his throat.

"Your majesty, my High Priest and Priestess; Our neighbours from the East have felt your daughters' power, through means of their own, and wish to have her in their own nation as protection from the other war nations surrounding the area.

" We have sent negatiators to try to fix this mess, but the only thing they will not do is take you away if you have a husband and child. We have men stationed at the border to defend you and your King, but they will only last so long. Either you can chose to move or we stand and defend."

Perla stared in shock as the events of war were over turning. Because of her. This is all your fault. I can't belive that this is happening to me. You hear about this happening to other nations. Not mine. Not mine.

Her father patted her arm and she knew what she had to do. She couldn't leave her city, her father, her King. She had to set up traps and call upon the Goddess Harmio for guidence and strength. Nodding to herself, she was faintly aware of the men in the room. The High Priest had left as did the King, leaving only her and the noble in the room.

"Are you sure that those are my only options?" She asked. She looked to the window hoping for the day to end and the nightmare with it.

"Yes, I'm afraid so" he said walking over to her, "but there are more thing that a Priestess of your magicks can accomplish to help her city." he gripped her shoulder and bent toward her. She looked up to him, her eyes filling with new tears for the day.

"I'm so afraid. I mean for the city and the citizens. All my fears before this seem small and unimportant." The noble man laughed a little.

"Are you kidding? Everything matters. Even fear of the dark. Your our Priestess, you need to be safe." His face was dangerously close and she could feel her breath catch when he got closer.

Suddenly the door opened, but the noble man didn't move. Only when the King cleared his throat did he move.

"I seem to have forgotten my manners. My name is Prince Raole." Perla looked to the King, her best friend and gave him an ugly look. He shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

"He has something he needs to ask you" Her father said. Prince Raole smiled and knelt infront of her.

"Priestess Perla Harmio, I have come to ask your hand in marriage."
