"Go to your room. I don't want to see your face for the rest of the night!" yelled father.
I ran to my room not wanting to anger him more. I shed my clothes and looked in the mirror. This time it looked bad. The scars from last time were still there and the blisters, bruises, and cuts this time looked much worse. I pulled out the medical box that I kept under my bed and started to treat my wounds.
Ugly is what I am. No one wants a girl with ugly scars, a broken heart. Without a soul. My pale skin glowed in the moonlight of my room. Not daring to turn the lights on. My father still in a drunken rage. I thought maybe we could have had dinner together tonight. I didn't count on the fact that he would come home drunk. I mean, I even made dinner. My eyes filled with tears and I knew I couldn't hold them in. I watched myself in the mirror as gentile rivers moved down my face. No one would want something so ugly. I don't even want me.
"Melissa, open this door now!" father yelled from the other side of the door. "Melissa, are you okay?" I knew he was just trying to win my trust. Its always like this. He beats me then he buys me all the stuff I want. Then when I start to trust him, He beats me again. Harder and harder. Tonight I was lucky. Sometimes I can't even get off the ground after a beating.
"Sorry father, I'm just going to take a shower."
"Okay then, well good night." I heard the foot steps descend the stairs. Yeah its a great night. I finished cleaning my wounds, pulled my long black hair into a bun, put on some P.J's and went to sleep. Not wanting to think about school in the morning. I slowly fell asleep dreaming of a world outside my own. A world where everything's just perfect.
