This is a poem about my big sister. She was diagnosed with Leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. I was her donor. This was written about her after the transplant; she was in physical and emotional pain, and she thought she was all along in it.. But she wasn't. I was there the whole time; waiting in the wings. We are now closer than ever.. BFFs.

Sometimes I really wonder

how much pain your truely in

I can see it in your eyes

hear it in your voice

feel it in your presence...

I see you more clearly

than many people do

I see past that mask...

that one you wear so much

you put on a good show

and you fool the world...

but you don't fool me

I see past your presences

and you don't even know

my sister...

you don't seem to see

how much I really care

I love you more than you understand

and you don't even know...

You are...

my teacher,

my spiritual rock,

my leader,

my best friend,

my hero,

...

my big sister.
