No More

The imprints disappear with morning’s light
You’re comforting words of apology and plight
Excuses I’ve made disappear from sight
Another mark renders another reminder
Another scar to a promise short forgotten
No More
I can’t break free from your chains
I can’t stop the fault from reaching my soul
I’m sorry I’m not perfect, I’m sorry you are
Another slap, another hit -it’s all my fault
It’s all alright
No More
Blood spills from the crevasse of your heart
The air dead, your breath still
Like your heart
Like my soul
I’m free again
No More
