Memories

I hold the picture steady letting my tears swell up in my eyes as I cry for you.

The picture shows me your still here the world.

I tuck the picture under my pillow as I wipe my tears away.

I close my eyes thinking of the memories we shared.

The old swing we played on and laughed on.

Swing straight slowly over the horizon.

Rusty red swing still here now at this moment as I speak.

You weren’t just my husband you were my friend.

You left to soon we never grew grey hair and grew old together.

I mourn over your grave as I wish we were together in the afterlife.
