When the day falls asleep,
Therefore, the sun can rest her weary eyes
From the havoc below her gentle blaze,
The night comes awake.
The tired moon raises his brow,
As he watches the war fall to peaceful sleep.

Knowing he has no need to watch,
He too, nods off, to dream of beautiful things,
A world apart his love still rests her eyes.
Her light and love for him
Brightens his cold and solemn skin.
Their hearts both break, as their souls rotate.

She imagines the cool and soothing touch
That she will never get to feel.
His mind depicts her warm and burning heart.
On occasion, she'll send him
A gorgeous shooting star, and he,
The gentlest of comets.

A world apart but their love shall never cease.
