Everyday Annoyances

For when those things just won’t

stop presenting themselves.

A wet bathroom table

that moistures your sleeves

A morning phone call

acknowledging your urgent appointment

in three months.

The plumbers arrive

giving away their

four figure quote.

A traffic stop that

makes a morning’s walk

the speed of light.

When you get promoted,

to an underpaid position.

Hitting the haystack,

with everyday annoyances,

right in front of your time machine bed.
