To tell a lie

Poem by: Brian Peza Perrins

Summary

So who's never told a lie then? and when you start how do you stop?

Lest you ask me, I may speak a lie
I would never tell you, it may make you cry

Try to have faith like you know you should do
Imagine a first love, something that’s true

To offer your hand at the same time to feign
Like the trust that you give, alas to refrain

Never stop to look back over your shoulder
The things that you feel are of the beholder

At night when you sleep are your thoughts true?
The woven web of deceit does steadily accrue

Naught is fair in this world that we live
The time is nigh to unfold and forgive
