I wrote this poem right before I graduated high school, I got it published in my high school literary magazine, so none of the underclassmen I was friends with could think that I would ever forget them or my high school.

Time pushes me on

This is not the end,

This is not a goodbye,

But a battle cry.

A sounding of pride,

Roars of hope.

I plan to succeed,

Even after I leave.

But it is not the end,

It is not a goodbye,

This is my battle cry.

I will leave and succeed,

I wish I could say,

See you soon.

But I can’t for I will not,

I will be leaving my footprints,

Somewhere new.

But always remember,

That it was I,

Who was here.

Now I may leave,

But I will continue,

To be here,

Always to listen,

To you my dear.

Always remember,

That it is I,

Who is here for you,

Even though I stand before you to say,

Goodbye.
