This is my short opinion of High School and the way that people function and change once going there. It is all simply things I have witnessed in the halls of my very own school and think that people should prepare themselves for and accept as human beings.

High school is a terrible place. I mean think about it, the moment you walk throught those doors, you are being watched and judged by thousands of eyes you've never even seen before. Based on the clothes you wear and who your best friend may have been in middle school, you are immediately placed into one of the following categories;

Preps.

Jocks.

Emos.

Burn outs.

Nerds.

Criminals.

Because of this vicious and judgemental cycle, you lose the opportunity to make a very wide variety of new friends, unless you are one of the lucky ones. Everyone judges you because of the music you listen to, or the color and style of your hair. They stick to their crowd, and you stick to yours, if you even have one at this point, given that you are still new to this strange and terrifying world.

You see somebody wearing the same clothing brand as you, or listening to a band you might like. You instantly think "Hey, they're just like me!" and you make your first friend. Wham! You have just made your first step in becoming the exact kind of judgemental people around you that you despise so much. Without realizing it, you cut yourself off from other "social classes" and cliques. That's how it starts you know, the transformation from that innocent eighth grade who may have been friends with everybody, to the inevitable moster of high school.
