After Breaking dawn….

Chapter 1

~

Stars shined like diamonds against the blue velvet night sky. In the distance water trickled down from a small waterfall and deep in the forest a owl hooted before pouncing on his small prey. The wind blew softly through my hair as I stood outside the cottage, waiting for Jacob to arrive. I held my dress up in my right hand while my left hand lingered on a big tree a few steps away from the cottage. With my my prom dress on and face all dolled up I started to feel excited about the evening ahead.

Who knew that things could be this perfect, not in the sense of normal, rather the abnormal, seeing as my family consists of vampires and werewolves in modern day 21st century, it kind of makes it perfect in the sense that my boyfriend and soul mate for all intense and purposes was a werewolf and fitted in perfectly with my little freak of a family. Sigh...

If mom could cry she would have been soaking half of Fork’s handkerchiefs in less than an hour. Dad just stood in the doorway with half a smile on his face. My first prom, the first of many to come. A car drove up the gravel outside the cottage and my heart skipped a beat at the thought of him here. Silly really, I get excited every time I see him, this happens all the time, since me and Jake could have a real relationship.

He walked up behind me and planted a small kiss at the back of my neck. “You look beautiful” he whispers in a husky tone. I was wearing turquoise silk, a corset with black velvet embroided patterns, the gown flowed out to my feet in turquoise and black interlaced. “Ready to go Nessie?” Jacob asked. He took my hand and walked me to his car, after all the years he still drove the rabbit he built himself.
