This is my first love poem. I've never written about something like this before, so it's been several months in the making. I hope it does justice to its topic.

little white lines
we’ve always been
we’ve always existed
forever
it seems
forever
it seems
since we met
i almost didn’t go to that party
men scare the shit out of me
talking
drinking
dancing
thinking
kissing
hoping
hoping so fucking bad
kissing a little bit more
little white lines
these little white lines
what would have happened to us if we’d made that night a one night stand?
men scare the shit out of me
panic attacks
nightmares
paranoia
every day of my life
men scare the shit out of me
but not you
these little white lines
that glow in the dark
nights out
you always pay
hold my hand
touch my back
i let you touch my back
hours
sleeping in your arms
forever
it seems
waking up screaming
you pet my hair until i fall asleep again
forever
it seems
since we met
these white lines
these little white lines
that glow in the dark
that zip past me
we’ve always been
we’ve always existed
without eachother
i can’t exist without you now

and i could be with you
sleeping in your arms
laughing
kissing
whispering
cuddling
dreaming
kissing a little bit more
forever
it seems
these white lines
these little white lines
that glow in the dark
that zip past me
as i speed down the highway
seventyone
seventy
thirtythree
these little white lines
will take me to you
