I wrote this poem in 2007 a year before my father passed away. I was about 15 at the time, and have not edited it since. This poem was written as if I unconciously "knew" I wouldn't ever see him again.

Gone

My dad is out there, somewhere far,

In a house, or in a car,

Does he think about me?

I don't know,

But some things I just can't let go,

Like how he left,

And what he did,

All of that stuff from when i was a kid,

He is now gone,

And never will see,

Just what he has done to me,

How could you leave, get up and pack,

Drive away and never look back?

You don't write and you don't even call,

You never try to contact me at all,

I want to see you next christmas,

Or even next fall,

But with my luck,

I wont see you at all.
