When you walk with your head held high and a smile on your face,

They don’t ask.

If you act like all is well,

They don’t worry.

If you say you’re okay, no really you’re fine,

They believe you.

You put on a front, and don’t let them see,

They aren’t curious, they don’t wonder.

It eventually begins to weigh you down,

It sucks the life out of you

And consumes all your time and energy

You can’t be fake all the time

Someone will notice

Someone will see

You’ll break down eventually

Like all other things

You may be strong

But you’re not invincible.

So is it really worth it?

To pretend to be okay,

When clearly you just need someone,

Someone to notice.

Someone who will listen.

You are not alone..
