Premonition of HeartBreak

Poem by: britny8987

Summary

A poem I wrote shortly after kissing my boyfriend before he left for a field trip that he would return from later that day. At the time I wrote it, I had no idea he would cheat on me during that trip...

Racing thoughts,

Keep me awake,

My strength rots,

And I fear I'll break,

This pain I feel,

These words can't convey,

I try  to conceal,

I try to shy away,

I only know,

What I try to say,

I don't want to go,

I don't want to break away,

If I leave,

My broken heart won't mend,

I will grieve,

My happinesses end,

Is there no sympathy,

In God's eye,

No empathy,

For the likes of I?

As exaggerated,

As it sounds,

I find myself berated,

By Hell's hounds,

When everything,

Is torn apart,

I'm left with nothing,

But a broken heart.
