Quiet Angel of Mine

In bed I lay still and awake

Listening to the sounds of night

Waiting, my time has come.

Twisting sanity round and round

Toes clenched tight, a rose bud not yet bloomed.

Fluttering ever so softly the curtains ripple

I relax, the only certain thing in life,

Peace in the fiercest storm.

My eyes stare into the night

Translucent, soft in the moonlight

Breathing steadies, then slowly
