With out my needle and thread I’d surely be dead

I need to keep stitching things back into my head

I took time away from me and I stayed away to long

Now I can’t find a voice; words to write a song

Looking in the mirror is like facing the truth

But I don’t want to see decaying youth

It’s like I’m fighting myself

But I’m sure I’m not insane

I’m trying to restore new thoughts

To a classically conditioned brain

It’s like 2 years I’ve been holding my breath

Forgetting I need to breathe

Looking for resolve in others

But never counting on me

I have the power to see beyond the hell that once ate me alive

It’s facing the pain head on that keeps me up at night

They say I’m stronger now, but what good does that do?

You learn that you know nothing about things you thought you knew

Standing on a perch far away from here

Wanting to feel something but chained back by fear

Repetition is the answer apparently; get it through your head

Resuscitate the living, and bury what’s dead.
