I had another dream of you today

You sang me sweet symphonies; you spoke of promises, of love.

When I woke you were gone

And I was reminded it was only a distant memory. Just a dream.

I wish, I wish you didn’t have to go away.

I thought about you again today

I remembered when I called you mine, and wished I could one more time.

When I looked around, I saw that I was still alone

And I wondered if you ever think about me too

I wish, I wish you didn’t have to go away.

I saw you again today

You were sitting across the room. I wanted to talk you, to kiss your lips

When I tried to speak I found no words

And I watched you walk by, watched someone else catch your eye

I wish, I wish you didn’t have to go away.

I missed you even more today

I hid away from the world to lie down and cry

When I called out you weren’t there. Nothing but silence filled the air

And I was reminded there was nothing more

I wish, I wish you didn’t have to go away.
