NOBODY LOVES

BY BRONSE BAKER

Nobody loves a fat man

Fatty Arbuckle new the truth

Nobody loves a fat man

People love the fat babies that poop yellow

People love fat pay checks

People love fat pieces of rock cocaine

But nobody loves a fat man

A fat woman she gets loved

Some men prefer them

Some women prefer them

Ask the Venus of Willindorf she knows

She laughs at fat men from her glass case in the museum

Nobody loves a fat man

The clothes store

The bus

The airplane

No.

I am the fat man

I have endured

I exist

In me is a part of every fat man that came before

And every fat boy that became the same

Like every camp fire smells the same

To the first man and to me

The wood smoke and crackle

Look into the fire and feel

I resist the urge to hate

But I hate the urge

I exist up here, in the bleachers

Hello can you see me

Hello I am here with the splinters

Here I am

No one can here me for the crowd of life

It plays out on the field, in uniform

I watch quietly with my shirt UN tucked and wrong socks

Nobody loves a fat man

Not even me.
