I look to the Heavens

Longing  for my youth

A chance to relive what

I have done wrong.

Sincere regret will

Turn back the pages

And only a new heart

Will see the past

As a dead piece of wood

The worms have rotted

And made new tunnels

Of life and adventures

The course of my life

I left behind

Gave way to others

To make their way

Through my mistakes

To turn them

Into  new solutions.

I will venture on

And leave all behind

A true believer

And a heart of faith

I will burrow my way

Through a new hollow

Patiently working

Toward my end

Possibly follow the paths

And ruts and grooves

Of those before me

Who thought once

They had made

Those same mistakes

That I learn from

Today and bless those

Who made so many

Mistakes and regrets

They never really

Saw the lesson in

Teaching them to me.
