I love it when I come up with a line or two and I start developing a certain idea, but then the result it's something totally different. That happened when I came up with these simple verses, but I must say I'm really proud of the outcome. This is pretty much simple; it's about somebody holding you back. Can be a painful memory, a troublesome relationship, an abusive parent, a bully, it can be about anything. I didn't wrote a happy ending to this poem because I really wanted to portray that awful moment we go through when we want to be free but we don't know how to. I used some metaphors; I hope you guys like it.

Like a rubber band you hold me back;
keeping me from the right track.
And there is no doctor around,
to heal my painful piercing sounds.

Like an anchor you pull me down;
in my sea of tears I slowly drown.
And there is no lifeguard around,
to lift me from the ocean ground.

Like a witch burned at the stake,
I suffer the outcome of my mistake.
And there is no known spell,
that can save me from this hell.

Like a shooting star across the sky,
I slowly fade and then I die.
And there is no darkened night,
that can make my glow shine bright.
