This poem is one of the first poems I wrote; really different from the things I've written. It's about how the mirror only shows our physical appareance, yet, fails to show how we really are and how we really feel. I hope you enjoy it.

Standing in front of the mirror

My reflection seems to be clearer.

The people I hurt, these lies I’ve told,

 Remind me that I’ve grown old.

What happened with my days of innocence?

For everyone they seemed to be nonsense;

But they always kept clean my conscience.

Everything was easier back then,

When I was just learning how to count from one to ten.

Chances to take, decisions to make,

Always making my head shake.

Those childhood memories in my heart;

Always keep me from falling apart.

Those pure naïveté days

I always treasure them in an unlock place.

Standing in front of the mirror

Nothing seems to be clearer.

My mind’s going through a change;

Yet my true feelings still remain.

The mirrors always lie

It just shows your ply,

Yet, what’s under is still hidden

Like something forbidden.

It is a lying mirror;

It fails to show your true colors.

Do not be fooled by your reflection,

Because it never reflects your true emotions.
