Distant things always seem far away.  But that's just the way it goes, sometimes.  Far away things are way, way out there.  You can walk to them and try to make them closer, but that would take forever, since the thing is far away.

On the other hand, close things are much nearer.  Why, I'll bet I could reach right out and pick up something if it were close.  I could look at it all I want.  It wouldn't be tiny at all.  Unless it was small to begin with, of course.

If small things were far away, you might not be able to even see them.  That would really suck.  That's why I like all of my things to be close.  I want to know where they are, especially the little things.

I used to have a few big things.  I tried keeping them in my pockets, but they wouldn't fit.  I looked for clothes with bigger pockets but couldn't find any big enough.  Then I asked a tailor to make clothes for me with big pockets.  He said he wasn't in the big-pocket business, and told me to find a parachute and make my own.  But I thought that was silly.

Now I only have small things that I keep really close.  Usually in my pockets.  Would you like to see the cool piece of string I found?
