standing alone next to my feelings as i watch across the street, an older woman sits with her hand out, for the chance to receive a coin,, wondering to myself why her life brought her to where she sits, old and frail,, with no spirit to give,, watching ones walk pass her as if the bench was empty,,, no smile as she looked down in shame,,, as others called her names,, and as her hand curled up close to her heart,,,, i believe i felt her tear as i wiped my face,,,,i moved on with what i was doing with her in my mind,,,,,, and i thought of,,, where ever i go,,someone knows me,, they greet me as if i was important,, and i wondered if i sat with my hand out,, would they still greet me or place a coin in my hand,,,,,, ,,,,,, because of who i am i went back an sat with her,,  as i walked up,, our eyes were together until her shame came again,,, no coins was given to her hand,, i just sat and asked her for her name,,  no reply,, just scared and holding herself,, as i went on talking,,, as  people walked by and saw my hand out and the looks i received,,,  and then replied to the woman with no name,,, its amazing how other people don`t have pride in them anymore,,,,, soft and slowly she says her name,,, and a greeting from me to her,,,, shutting my phone off so my work would be stopped,, then i enjoyed my long talk with a woman called Lucille,, we talked for about a hour about many things,,,,,, i found that just how a person looks or acts they still been through life,,,, i ask Lucille her opinions on what she thought of life itself is,,,,,,, and told me something that change another part of me,,,,,,, how a person that has nothing beside what she pushes in her cart,, that has knowledge of life more then me,, i saw the beauty of what she is,,, then,, how i saw her sit with her hand out,,, a woman name Lucille taught me a part that i didn't know,,, as i called her my friend with my honor because she is here,,, i saw a smile from a woman named Lucille,,,, a lady at one time who sits with her own respect to gather what she has lost,, as the eyes take what life she has left,,, away,,,,,  to my new friend who will sits upon the bench as others will see empty,,, i gave her something better then a coin,,, i treated her as the lady she is,,,,so if you see Lucille on a bench in down town kennewick wa. say hi to my friend,
