The thump of my heart continues to race
As I search for the answers to whatever I face.
I ponder each struggle and stare into space
Desiring some comfort, some peace to embrace.
Where can I find that? Is it here in this place?
I find all these problems but don't see a trace
Of joy in my heart or of peace to erase
My sorrows and all of the my tears on my face.
I long for a beauty that would fully replace
All that I am - my downfalls, my disgrace.
The person I am has been locked in a case,
Disguised in a wrapping, and covered in lace.
I'm not who you think - confident, full of grace.
Why am I here? How'd I get to this place?
Where am I going? How fast is my pace?
Will I finish the course, reach the end of the race?
Will I win? Will I lose? Will I come in last place?
What's the best scenario and what's the worst case?
Who might befriend me, to brighten my face?
All I need is Your mercy, Your love, and Your grace
When I'm here, or if, for some reason I'm not in this place.
YOU will go with me in every case.
You're there watching everyone, every time every place.
Amazing is Your Love, Mercy, Presence, and Grace....
