This poem is about wanting to help someone, to save them, and kidding yourself that you actually can make a difference, when you know deep down you really can't, so all you're left with is this desperation...

Your words rip me apart,
Like no blade ever could,
Your words drive me crazy,
Feeling worry no one should.

You leave me so helpless,
Yet trapped by my love,
All I want to do is help,
Like an angel from above.

I can't be an angel though,
Still I'll stay to save you,
Yeah you seem to hurt,
But I have to see you through.

No matter what,
I'll be strong,
Just for you,
I'll hold on.

No matter what,
You'll have me,
It's all for you,
Can't you see?

I love it when you smile,
But it's become so rare,
So I'll fight for another grin,
A bit of interest in your stare.

I'm never gonna let go,
Wracked with fears,
And they're all aimed at you,
Melting into tears.

Lean on me,
Please don't ever go,
Lean on me,
My plea was too slow...
