Worms gnaw at the guts,
Spawned of thought,
Thin tendrils of anxiety,
Weave smothering blankets,
To lay over the face,
And stuff the throat,
Fogging thoughts with thread,
Choking words with guilt,
The secret-keeper cut open,
Laid exposed on stone,
Blood-red skies overhead,
Blotted with dark clouds,
All silver in the mines,
Hope chased by despair,
Till eyes so raw,
They bleed red rivers,
Salt-staining the face,
Eroding the heart,
Sand falls no more,
Dreaming of anothers death,
Wears away sleep,
Jump to fly,
Firmly grounded.
