I've never been good about following rules
to the T at least
This is some of why
I never did very well in school
for the most part
I lack discipline but I appreciate
When you notice that I am disciplined in other ways
I know I contradict myself
Being critical and lenient
over the same line
torn between strict and playful
rules are inspiring and maybe neccesary
sometimes
but as I read each bullet
your requirements
The path to perfection
The rules of what's best
Why do you need them?
I admit they are attractive
But your morals should be your active
buffer against breaking true taboos
I always catch mayself thinking
"I win" but i think
When when the contest ends
Or gets dwarfed by circulation
Blood and breathing
I can accept any fate that falls
I will be waiting to catch it
I may not always be in time
On the dot
You say its shallow--vanity-
But half of my "Style"
Is in my mind
And thinking that
I think that way of you
In what you've been awarded
Or seem to lack
There is always something of
value
