The Place I Hold Within

There is a space
I hold within
A barren land
Where none do roam

Where deep in darkness
Life descends
But stalls
Before it’s grown

It’s a place where feelings
Such as love
Should be born
And spread like a disease

Still in this place
I hold within
Lies a heart alone
That only bleeds
