I looked outside from the bank of kitchen windows and took in the view of the fall foliage. Orange, red, brown leaves decorated the back yard. Beautiful. The sun shone brightly. It was going to be a beautiful day and I looked forward to taking a walk into town to buy some stamps.

I took a sip of my coffee and enjoyed the aroma.

I lost my job several weeks ago and this was the first day that I felt back to normal.

The doorbell rang. I walked over and opened the door and a Federal Express man stood in front of me.

"You Dave Miller?" he asked.

He shoved an envelope in front of me. "Sign here."

Confused, I did.

"Thanks," he said, and walked back to his truck.

I pulled open the envelope and pulled out a stack of letters. On the front was an offiical looking document that said: 'Civil Action Filed.'

Great. A lawsuit against me. The leaves didn't look so beautiful anymore. Walk forgotten, I put down my coffee and read the rest of the document.
