The autumn dawns
Where the summer
Sets, and beyond
Its boarders a cold
Chill lies in wait.

And when the former
Engaged with the fall,
The steep descent
Was calmly rapid.

The newborn sun
Was not sufficient
Enough to fight
The approaching
Expiration, and as
It set, an omen
Claimed the air.

So foretold
Were the coming
Days' fate, growing
Shorter and shorter,
Till there was no longer
Light enough to
Guide them through
The bitter darkness.
