I hear something...in the distance
It sounds like...crying
Looking down the numerous halls I whisper, "Where?"
It's dark, I can't see much
Suddenly I hear it again and I follow the noise, "There."
A lone figure huddled in the corner
Crystalline tears drop to the marble floor, echoing
So loud in the complete silence..
Deep glassy eyes stare out from the darkness.
"Why are you here? Are you alone too?" She asks.
I stare for a moment at her then lean back against the wall, "Yes."
A neverending darkness seemed to reach out at me
Clouding my mind, holding me still
A sharp coppery tang filled my senses
Feeling a liquid substance creeping onto my bare feet
I squint trying to decipher what it is
I still hear the loud echoing of tears, are they tears?
Suddenly a bright light turns on and I flinch into the wall away from it.
Slowly I look towards the girl's corner.
I scream piercingly...there she was
A mask upon her face, blood upon her arms
The sleek white porcelain donning a single word...
"Lies"
I stare as the blood flow gets slower and slower
Still I stare as it dries.
The lights flicker and fade away
I pick up the mask and fix it over my face and lean into the darkness.
Now I shall bear it...
The Mask of Lies...
