In summer sun it’s so bright
With flowers in baskets
All of them just right
The fence it protects them
From windy direction

The bees and the insects
All head for cover
When the rain it does come
To sprinkle on some
Of the life that grows there
Apple tree, plum tree, or pear

The clouds that pass by
May darken the view
But we will remain where we sit
Not to give in to it
This is England of course
We prepare for it

And assume it will arrive
To spoil the day if we let it
But no fear its summer
So as were all here
Let’s kick off our shoes
And have some more beer.
