Unrelenting repeats.

A dissonant harmony

of recycled rigor.

Mine is the eulogy

that lulls itself

into a shallow grave

down the scale, dug

with a familiar shovel.

Enrobed in the earth,

it rebels and writhes

against the unmelodic grind.

Exhumed and stapled to plastic wings

it ascends a plain--unfamiliar.

In rapture reputable

it may have found

a new key to claim.
