Sitting under a pink umbrella in the shade, Caroline began to clip her toenails. She always hated doing this as she generally cut too much nail away to make accidentally brushing her feet against anything comfortable. "Fuck!" she thought, as she clipped a large chip from her big toenail.

Just then she noticed a small group of boys approaching where she lay in the sand. One of the boys held a stained plastic bag that sagged with the weight of whatever it carried. The group of boys, who were dressed in a dirty assortment of frayed shorts and threadbare vests, stopped at the pink umbrella.

One of the smallest boys approached Caroline and held out a grubby paw, asking for money. Caroline had never been charitable and saw no reason to start now. Grabbing the spray-gun she used to cool herself down in the mediterranean heat, Caroline sprayed a quick spurt at the small boy and impatiently  waved him along. "Go away you horrid little creature", she said and waved the spray-gun threateningly. The little boy didn't move.

Slowly, the boy holding the bag came forward and lowered his package to the sand. Kneeling down next to the bag, he removed a large bar of white soap and placed it carefully on the grainy sand in front of him. Caroline, thinking the boys were now trying to sell her soap, tightened the nozzle of her spray-gun and sent a concentrated jet of water into the kneeling boy's eye.

Crying out in pain and surprise, the boy fell back in the sand, sending bars of soap onto the beach. Quick as a flash, each boy grabbed a bar and set about beating Caroline about the head until the sand beneath the pink umbrella was wet with her blood and brains.
