He screams:

WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?

and I hang my head in shame

I contemplate his question

I am a loving mama

and a devoted daughter.

I feel empathy and sympathy

that move me to tears.

I am a joyous teacher

and a faithful friend.

I dedicate myself to rightness

and see the good in everyone.

I am a survivor

of countless injustices.

I believe in the power of

pure, unconditional love.

I am full of beauty

and see beauty all around me.

I speak my mind

when others would fear to.

I am myself

regardless of the cost.

Should this question arise again

My answer shall be:

NOTHING
