The Guest

Oh intruder, intruder, you unwanted guest
Why have you come to cause such unrest?
It cannot be me as to why you are here,
But if I know so, then why do I fear?
You have come here before, but never for me,
So you’ve made a mistake, why can’t you see?
Each time you’re here, I can only feel pity,
Maybe smile and nod and say something witty.
It cannot be me as to why you are here,
I think I know so, but oh do I fear.
Why, if it’s me as to the reason you’ve come,
I’d have no choice but to pack up and run
For who would do anything but feel some pity,
Maybe smile and nod and say something witty.
