this is a color poem I am the color of cheeks when he calls you beautiful
I am the chirpy cardinal in the summer breeze
I am your favorite pair of shoes
I am your pursed lips when you disagree
I am the sign at the end of the street
I am his scowl of unrefined hate
I am his fist after he hits you
I am the drops of blood in the sink
I am your wrists when you are finished
I am red

I am the color of cheeks when he calls you beautiful

I am the chirpy cardinal in the summer breeze

I am your favorite pair of shoes

I am your pursed lips when you disagree

I am the sign at the end of the street

I am his scowl of unrefined hate

I am his fist after he hits you

I am the drops of blood in the sink

I am your wrists when you are finished

I am red
