Letter’s You’ll Never Read

Camden Marshall, October 18, 2011

You’ll never see and I’ll never tell,

rather left be,

written in stories I’ll never sell.

You’ll never get the privilege

to know what’s going on in my head

as I lay here tucked into my bed

You’ll never get to see

the tears that a cry

as if you were a cold little spy,

Nor will you get to see

my heart as it breaks,

as it cracks,

as it flakes

You will not be here with me

as I sit up and worry,

my mind in a flurry

A whirl-wind,

a chase,

my mind caught up in space,

You’ve left,

you’re gone,

like the leaves on my front lawn,

after the first winter storm...

the thought of you within reach is so warm

But you”ll never know,

I’ll be gone like the snow

You’ll never see and I’ll never tell, rather left be, written in stories I’ll never sell.
