Invisible to the world.

Spoken words that may as well have been

To speak,

And to yet not be heard,

Tells the tale of a boy in pain.

Pain no one will ever know.

Expression suppressed,

By the prison of society.

Expression lost

On the deaf ears of peers.

A boy in a corner,

Curled into himself.

Racked with sobs.

Yet no one hears.

Yet no one consoles.

His heart is breaking.

His sanity is stretching.

He speaks but is not heard.

Sanity snaps under the pressure.

"Funny," he thinks sitting in a cell,

"Funny how people, once deaf,

Can hear me when I do not speak

But when I do, words fall,

Fall on deaf ears,

Words spoken,

Yet unspoken."
