I wake up and roll over checking to see what time it is. I look at the clock and the light blinds me for a moment. After my vision clears I see that it's a little after one. I roll back over and lay on my side scanning my room. I study all the shadows trying to go back to sleep. But, all of a sudden sopmething doesn't feel right. I scan my room again and notice a shadow that I didn't pay much attention to the first time I looked around. I lay there frozen in fear trying to determine what the shadow could be. Before I can think to much about it the thing moves. It moved only an inch or so closer to my bed. I wouldn't have noticed it moved had I not noticed the rustling of the things clothes. I am paraylized now. I try to will my mind to command my arms to cut on my lamp to find out what the shadow is. But, I can't move. Fear begins to build inside of me as I hear the thing move again. This time it doesnt stop moving. It keeps coming closer and closer to the bed. Finally, it stops and I can see what it is because of the moonlight shining in from my window. What i see only scares me more. The man is smiling at me. No. He isn't smiling his smile is carved into his face. As I lay there I notice the man doesn't blink. Then I realize it's because he doesn't have eyelids. Before I can even scream the thing is on me. He laughs as he withdraws a knife from his longcoat. He carves a smile into my face and then repeatedly stabs my chest. When he is satisfied he opens the window and leaps out. I hear his maniacal laughter as my eyes begin to close. Sleep finally covers me like a blanket. I close my eyes and sleep. I sleep an eternal sleep.
